Covid-19 pandemic | Cascais City Council measures

As part of the measures recommended by the Health General Directorate regarding this period of the Covid-19 pandemic, Cascais City Council has determined the following (last updated on 23rd march 2020):

MOBILITY

All municipal public works suspended until further notice

As a containment measure against #covid19, Cascais City Council informs that it has suspended all current municipal public works until further notice.

This is due to the need of guaranteeing the safety of residents and City Council staff, and also to preserve the comfort of those who are in mandatory preventive isolation.

While public works are suspended immediately, City Council guarantees access to residents and the respect for public safety. For Councilman Nuno Piteira Lopes, who oversees this area, “we had to take this decision. Residents and our colleagues deserve the maximum protection” concluding that “City Council will take all necessary measures to mitigate the propagation of Covid-19 and counts on the indispensable collaboration of all in following the rules it stipulates.”

Once the Covid-19 situation has stabilised, and everyone’s safety is ensured, municipal public works will resume.
