Covid-19 pandemic | Cascais City Council measures
As part of the measures recommended by the Health General Directorate regarding this period of the Covid-19 pandemic, Cascais City Council has determined the following (last updated on 23rd march 2020):
ENVIRONMENT
Beaches: group, sports, leisure, cultural and game activities are forbidden.
Groups of up to 5 people are allowed, each keeping the necessary safe distance.
“ People can still go to the beach, but they cannot do it in larger groups” says Carlos Carreiras, mayor of Cascais. He appeals to the civic duty of residents and guests in abstaining from the social interactions that contribute to the contagion of #covid19.
Cascais City Council also approved an exceptional measure in support of the Beach Concession establishment who have shut their doors as a preventive measure, by exempting them from paying due taxes until September 30, 2020.
Parking areas near beaches have been shut down as of March 15.
