Covid-19 pandemic | Cascais City Council measures
As part of the measures recommended by the Health General Directorate regarding this period of the Covid-19 pandemic, Cascais City Council has determined the following (last updated on 23rd march 2020):
ENVIRONMENT
The disinfection of streets and public spaces is already under way.
As part of the containment measures against the spread of #covid19, we inform the programme of the disinfection of streets and public spaces began on March 19 at dawn.
Our teams will visit all local councils. See photos.
The mechanical disinfection process, with a virucidal product with a 30-day efficiency, occurs between 6am and 12noon. They contemplate the following:
- Public equipment and vehicles
- ATM machines
- All garbage collection vehicles
- Receptacles of all recycling stations
- Dumpsters
- Smart trashcans and 30l trashcans
- Dog-litter bag dispensers.
- Equipment on the Cascais-Estoril Boardwalk (handrails, benches, etc.)
- Bus terminals (Cascais, Estoril, S. Joao do Estoril, Parede, Parede Station, Carcavelos) and over 400 bus shelters.
- MobiCascais buses
- Scotturb buses
Note: Until the virucide product arrived, buses and bus terminals were disinfected manually twice a day. In addition, the interior of Scotturb and MobiCascais buses continues to be disinfected, as do all of the municipal facilities with essential services staff work.
