15th International Congress of Educating Cities

It is with great pride that Cascais will be the headquarters and organizer of the XV International Congress of the International Association of Educating Cities, happening in 2018.
Cascais’s Municipailty is member of this International Association since 1997 and takes as a priority the development of transversal policies aimed for the quality of life of people who live here, work or visit us.
With the slogan "Cascais, everything starts in people", we look for excellence to the creation of active participation channels for citizen, making possible the decisions over the village; in voluntary initiatives, social entrepreneurship and business; the performance of our environmental resources and cultural heritage; in investment in knowledge, innovation and creativity.
It is also with great pride and sense of responsibility that, in 2018, Cascais will be European Youth Capital.
One of the challenges of the Charter of Educating Cities regards the search for harmony between cultural identity and diversity, safeguarding the right of all its inhabitants and the contributions of their communities.
In our local intervention we believe in democratic citizenship, in coexistence and social cohesion founded on ethical and civic values, in respect of complementarity and for a collective construction of a sense of belonging to the city. In this case, to our Cascais village.

The enrolment for participation in the XV International Congress of Educating Cities are until November 9 after this date, registrations can only be made and paid on the first day of the Congress - November 13th.

The next Congress of the International Association of Educational Cities to be held in Cascais will also have an exhibition space in which cities and institutions can participate with their respective stands. It will be a dynamic area that will allow dialogue and exchange between participants different cultural and artistic exhibitions.
